Program Description:

CAPA Florence: Concentration in Creative Arts & Art History

Study creative arts and art history in the birthplace of the Renaissance!

Florence is a vibrant, awe-inspiring, and culturally rich Global City. Its history as the "Cradle of the Renaissance" remains readily accessible through its art and architecture, and with an ever-growing immigrant population, Florence is very much a multicultural city.

The CAPA Concentration in Creative Arts and Art History provides opportunities to learn about the Renaissance period and the broad range of painting, sculpture, and architecture in Florence from this defining time in history, plus students can explore their creative potential and try their hand at capturing Florence through drawing.

Choose from a range of creative arts and art history courses, plus take courses across the CAPA Florence Global Cities curriculum in disciplines such as business, history, Italian language, and urban/global studies. Students who meet the minimum Italian language qualification can participate in an optional 3-credit internship in Italian and develop professional skills. Earn 12-15 credits per semester and 6-9 credits per summer.
