Spanish Language and Society in Rosario
Rapidly improve your Spanish while exploring the local culture in and around Rosario, Argentina. Students who have completed one year of Spanish by the beginning of the summer program can complete their second year of Spanish in the intensive 6-week summer program. Students who have completed two years of Spanish language studies by the start of the program can participate in either the summer or fall term and take advanced courses in Hispanic linguistics, advanced writing, language and society, or electives on Latin American and Argentine culture. All courses are taught in Spanish making this program ideal for Spanish majors and minors or for those interested in Latin American and International Studies.
The program includes multiple excursions outside the city, as well as extensive use of historic and cultural activities within Rosario for academic excursions. In addition, you will live in a homestay, which further supports your immersion into Argentine society and culture.
A supervised Internship and Independent Research program is also available to qualified students who are committed to gaining a unique perspective into Argentine life. During summer term, this option is offered as a four-week program starting right after the six-week Spanish program. During fall term, it is offered as a course option.
