YOUR ASA EXPERIENCE

You will receive individualized support from ASA’s advisors and staff throughout your program application process, while you are abroad, and when you return.

Before you depart we will work with you and the staff at your home institution to help you prepare for your time abroad by giving you personal access to our Student Success program, which will help you maximize your experience in your host country. You will also receive a detailed pre-departure orientation guide which will help you know what to pack, what to expect when you arrive, and how to stay safe while abroad.

Once you arrive in Buenos Aires you will participate in our onsite orientation with the other ASA students in your group. ASA’s site director will introduce you to your host city and culture through orientation and multiple events during the program. Our intentionally small group sizes allow ASA’s students to get to know one another and are an aspect of our programs for which our alumni consistently express their appreciation. You will have opportunities to meet other students and lots of new people through your classes, social events and optional language partners.

ASA programs include excursions, volunteer opportunities, housing, meals, academic credits, transcripts, mobile phones, airport pick-up on arrival, medical insurance and more! Contact ASA or your advisor to learn about ASA’s Price Guarantee for all of our programs.

Stroll past sidewalk cafes and Tango dancers in the streets on your way to campus. Universidad de Belgrano (UB) is a major institution of higher education in Argentina and hosts a large international student population every year. You will take Spanish and elective classes with students from all over the world and share the UB campus with local Argentine students. This program is for students at all levels of Spanish language. You will take 4 or 5 classes (Monday through Thursday) of which at least one class will be in Spanish language and Argentine culture. Electives taught in English and Spanish are available in a number of different subject areas including: Art History, Literature, Economics, Politics and Latin American Studies. Language level placement exams are taken at the beginning of the program in Buenos Aires. There is an option to study with Argentine students if you have an advanced level of Spanish. A full list of classes for this program can be found on the ASA website through the link at the top of this page.

Optional: Kick-start your semester in Argentina with an intensive month of Spanish! Focus on learning the language and getting to know your host city before the start of the full semester. Contact ASA for more details.

"My time spent abroad was absolutely amazing, and I give
a lot of credit to ASA for making it the best it could be."
